Kassie Kay: I assume by components you mean the basic bits that make up the structure. Depends a lot on the type of construction used and the age of the aircraft, but some common components would be Longerons (the main fore-aft bits in the corners, Stringers (the smaller strips to which the skin is attached, Formers (these are like bulkheads and give the fuselage its basic cross section dimensions). There are plenty of web pages out there too, try this one which explains the above far better than I can! :http://www.allstar.fiu.edu/aero/flight11.htmHope this helps,Garth....Show more
Mack Ukich: Components? You mean what are they made of? Usually the skin is aluminum. On some smaller planes the skin is cloth. Most aircraft have fuselage that partially supports the structure of the aircraft. This is a semi-monocock fuselage. the support spars are usually aluminum as well. Some smaller aircraft use wood. There are some aircraft that the skin supports all the str! ucture which is a monocock fuselage.
Ty Kirton: Wing bone connected to the spar bone, spar bone connected to the fuselage bone, fuselage bone connected to the empennage bone, empennage bone connected to the vertical and horizontal stabilizer bones.Sorry, a silly answer to an admittedly silly question.JT...Show more
Zelma Casebier: Currently their are two types of fuselage construction in use for modern aircrafts they may be either monocoque or semimonocoque construction.monocoque construction usually consists of frames, formers, bulkheads, longerons, gussets etc., & semimonocoque in addition to above also consists of supplementary longitudinal members like stringers etc., apart from above structural members aircraft also consists of radome, wheel well,empennage,tailcone....Show more
Carli Watterson: a fuselage is made up of a exterior skin . Frames run the circumference of the aircraft . Longerons or stringers ( it depends what aircraft company ,they use! different terminology) that run forward and aft of the aircra! ft . Shearclips attach the frames to the skin. Shearties attach the longerons or stringers to the frame. Those make up the tube of the aircraft and the ends are capped with what they call a pressure bulkhead. . bulkhead consist of a skin ,radials and what the call a bulhead t-cap....Show more
