Lester Haschke: there are several excellent plywood boat building sites on line, if you search up plywood skiff you will find many sites.here's the basic steps:decide on your design and purchase the plans (many come with full size pattern, you can also purchase a Kit boat with major parts cut out for you.after the plans and parts list arrives, purchase the plywood, epoxy, fiberglass tape and/or cloth and other supplies needed to build the boatset up your building area, tools etc.lay pattern pieces on the plywood, trace the patterns and cut out the major pieces.follow the plans for the construction of the boat.this will include tacking or stitching the bottom side end seats etc together and filleting and taping the seams together. sand and finish the boat, placing seats in the boat. gunnel's on the boat oar locks etc.plans are available from clark craft, glen L, C and C boat design, Sam Devlin, Bolger and many others.paint the boat, launch and have fun....Show more

Building a wooden boat is a huge undertaking, especially something as large as a cabin cruiser or day sailer. Hanging around a wooden boat repair shop/yard would give you a good idea of all t! he work that goes into woodies. Take a class at Mystic Seaport! and learn from the ground up. Lofting a boat alone can be a real brain tester. Start with a rowboat or canoe, and see how it goes.
