Craig Virani: I'll go slow. Corporations are a form of life on paper. In a partnership or a sole proprietorship when on of the partners or the owner dies the business ceases to exist. A corporation give a company a life of it's own, like a person. It allows the business to live on long after it's founders have died. It also absolves the principles of the corporation from personal liability for and wrong doing committed by the company in a civil matter. This prevents the principles of the corporation fro! m loosing their personal assets if the corp is subjected to predatory legal action. The double taxation we Conservatives object to is not because it affects the fictional entity known as the corporation bur because it forces the corporation to act as a tax collector for the government while passing the tax it is forced to collect on to the consumer therefore raising the cost of goods and services for all of us....Show more
Antone Youla: Just finished reading it, what a good book! yes corporations are government allowed entities, and no one is forced into it so if the taxation is a problem get out. form a partnership without government help.I think what it is the government provides them protection from bad decisions and thus they won't be sure that they produce a good product that does't hurt people, or have bad working enviroments that hurt the people there or the community.it takes away incentives to play fair and nice. I saw this video on the net that showed an ar! ea where a corporatation literally raped the land and left it ! as is, the water was orange and you couldn't even touch it, it would burn your skin. the area was stripped (it was a mine by the way). so limited liability really helped that corporation which raked in billions and the taxation on it is a fraction of what it would have cost to use better mining methods or to clean up their mess. without the government protection they would have had to spend millions on clean up, and if the corporation couldn't, then the private individuals are responsble for clean up.if partnership were encouraged then people would be forced to make better investment choices, and make sure their products and factories do not harm others. take corporations away from people who do this harm. And if your an investor in companies get activly involved if you can and if that company is doing bad things get out, you are just as responsible for the damages as your corporation, after all people run corporations it doesn't run itself. see parents, make sure you teac! h your kids responsiblity to clean up their own messes, they might grow up and destroy prime real estate.
