Fred Caminita: I think a celebrity is anyone (or anything) that anyone would ask, "isn't that, that celebrity?" about. If someone totally random knows you your a celebrity. You and your friend were just random people who recognized someone. I think that act of recognition makes that person a celebrity

Authors aren't really either because they don't turn up in magazines if they die (sometimes), that usually ends up on the news in their hometown or their currant town that they are living in.
