Rebbecca Sorkin: Invite him in for a coffee, and take him to see the offending wall, ascertain his reaction, he will probably ask you why you only decided to do something now that he has moved in..I myself am curious as to why you did'nt notice this before, as presumably you have been living in your house for some time.
Ronald Moehr: I seriously doubt he's going to pay to fix YOUR wall. As long as he hasn't done anything illegal then there is no way he's liable especially if he just recently moved in. The only way he could be held responsible is if he added a lot of soil above your wall since he bought the property. The wall is most likely bulging because it wasn't anchored properly for the weight behind it. You'll probably need to hire a landscape company that specializes in wall building to have a look and tell you what kind of costs you're looking at....Show more
Marcelle Vanlith: It sounds like the wall was not built properly in the first place.Retain! ing walls don't always need to be anchored but they do need weep holes to allow relief from hydrostatic pressure. More simply put , pressure caused by rain water saturating the soil.Maybe you could both pay for repairs since it serves both of you. Be diplomatic...If you have no wall,he has no garden....Show more
Oren Eskelsen: Yes I have but my husband was in charge and terrified of upsetting people . He has moved out and now I am in charge and possibly going to sell so I want everything done and now my chidren are older they want things sorted out
