This category is called Religion & Spirituality?

Damaris Weiler: Yea, I agree. Every new generation thinks the world will end. If people look back into history they will see that at some point in time EVERY generation had this fear of a certain date. No one knows. I thought the world was going to end for year 2000 and look at us now 11 year later! STILL HERE! WOW! Didn't see that coming! LOL! Seriously though you could die at any moment anyways. Regardless of when the real end of the world is. You might die in a car accident tonight, tomorrow, .... so just be ready regardless. Tomorrow is never a promise, but a gift....Show more

Gregg Hagge: I think this expression was used by anti- Islam groups like Romans or Persians, bcus they misunderstand Islam, they thought that Muslims worship to Mohammed( PBUH). Also nowadays, some of those who don't understand Islam or deliberately (in purpose) use this expression to twist the real meaning of Islam

Rheba Cockman: Because of Harold Camping

Faviola Dewire: It sk! ill faith and issues that others might disagree is faith yet deals with metaphysical concerns. that's a fact of a center and then a broadening, not an the two-or. There are religious questions and solutions, not too many religious trolls and landings, however. religious perception comes from many components of existence, even trivial events and reading pc questions and solutions. Granted, that is not likely which you will experience a splash of beatific imaginitive and prescient reading right here....Show more

Darrin Hixenbaugh: What exactly is "unhappy" or "sad" in being straight, and who the hell coined the "gay" term to define a "homosexual" person???

Sol Bayn: muhamadaism??i haven't heard of this term before.well yeah we don't worship our prophets, only ALLAH.

Tom Romer: Yes it is what we do all day, there's a thing called freedom of speech.

Hubert Jestes: This is a Christian insulting and wishing harm on atheists with his/her question http://answ! ers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aptu....

Asa Soho: I n! ever said this category is only for Christians. Anyone can come but not for the soul purpose to just challenge everyone else's faith.

Luke Kosch: What exactly is "crooked" or "winding" in being gay, and who the hell coined the "straight" term to define a "heterosexual" person???The real crooks are those that force kids to have sex with them, and those who judge people and deny people their rights, and you know which team they're batting for....

Joellen Zorrilla: Some Christians are smart. It's just the fact that they think that there's some divine being who made the universe that makes them stupid.

Noah Deni: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ak1Kt...BTWI am a christian and smartbut I find this whole gay marrige thing stupidlet them marry mariage is a social contract now .. if you want to make religious then that is up to you and your spouse

Jannette Kotz: Why are there humans in the cats category or commoners in the royalty category???

Tamatha Neubaum: That was a very good observation. This is in fact Religion and Spirituality. However I feel it is a little elitist to believe that the category is created just for Christians. I think the category reads simply Religion and Spirituality as a point that people who have views on Religion and Spirituality, whether they be for the affirmative or the negative, may air their views knowing that those of opposing views may air theirs also.I'm sorry that you are feeling challenged. I for one spend all day working, kids, sports, house keeping, cooking, and studying, and feel I have neither the time nor the reason to challenge any body's beliefs.I hope you find peace in here somewhere....Show more

Ramon Dahlheimer: I guess athiests can't stand to see people living a lie. I certainly can't.

Ayesha Genova: Because religion in this modern society is just as pertinent to an atheist..Conservative Christians impact everyone & everything in their path....Surel! y those affected have a right of reply...

Libby Berkovitch: Good ! point. I was thinking something similar the other day. We need a better term than "hetero" though...

Chadwick Schmelz: But atheist come here only for THAT reason. Its wrong.

Kassie Kay: People are stupid.

Bell Pasco: The word "gay" started to acquire sexual connotations in the late 17th century, being used with meaning "addicted to pleasures and dissipations". This was by extension from the primary meaning of "carefree": implying "uninhibited by moral constraints". By the late nineteenth century the term "gay life" was a well-established euphemism for prostitution and other forms of sexual behavior that were perceived as immoral. In earlier and in literary usage, the word means "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy". From the 1890s, it had begun to carry a connotation of promiscuity, as in a "gay house" referring to a brothel. It began to be used in reference to homosexuality in particular from the early 20th century, from the 1920s at the latest.I sup! pose the term "straight" used to describe heterosexual people, is in reference to being on the straight and narrow, the more logical path of sexual nature.[There is not much information of the etymology of the word used in this manner]Though I do agree with your statement on how the word "gay" is used in a very derogatory manner. I do not agree with your assumption that Christians are not smart. What measures a person's intelligence?I respect your right to voice your opinion, but you are making a very gross assumption based on the judgments of a few people you have known or seen on TV.

Rosella Figliola: *drink**drink**drink*I'll take another double shot of vodka and cranberry

Kenneth Thuesen: Don't blame Christians for the way language works.I don't know who coined the term, but I can tell you it wasn't a Christian.

George Dingeldein: Apparently it is "Judgment Day"What a load of Baloney.

Gregg Hagge: you know it seems that every few years someone ne! w predicts the end of the world it i like all panic over y2k i knew peo! ple that stock piled every thing and that night before the lines at the gas stations were miles long and then we woke up nothing happened i just believe when it happens it happens

Myron Leftwich: I really wonder why dont muslims and christians reveal the stupidities of their religions to one another... I mean reveal and share the stupid parts mutually by gathering in synagogues...

Jade Ohno:

Elmo Tervo: no.2 wrongs do not make a right. And I agree.. I would rather be attcking people who are harming the innocents of children than some gay people. Gay people have never done anything to me

Nicolasa Henke: I was going to answer your tired, retreaded question, but then I realized the search function does it better. Also, the dust patterns on my desk interest me more. *dusts*

Esteban Lyson: That should read, 'delusional or sane''! instead of(christian or smart)The sad thing is that christians have too much to say about how this country is run!it is ! NOT a chrisitan nation, so what they say shouldn't matter at all!!I believe Gay or Straight was a christians term, ( why am I not surprised here?) meant to imply that being Gay was a twisted, and perverted way to live! So you were either Gay or Straight, ( not twisted and perverted!)ANYONE who has sex with a child, should be stood against a wall,. and shot!

Ty Kirton: DRINNKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKwow - that's so incredibly original - it's only been asked about 100,000 times before. The opinion that there is no god is a religious matter and therefore is properly discussed in a religious forum. There are also many people who are atheist (do not believe in a god or gods) but also adhere to another religion or who are spiritual. Try looking beyond your own backyard once in a while - there's a whole world out there with a whole range of different beliefs and no parochial religionist has a monopoly on truth.Where do you suggest that the non-existence of god(s) be discussed? Pets? ! Car Maintenance?? Gardening???[incidentally, why ARE there so many chr! istians in the Lesbian, Gay and Transexual section? Surely they all belong only in R&S - or are there a lot more homosexual and transexual christians than will admit to it?]As christians maintain they have a personal relationship with jesus, perhaps they should be in the "Relationships" section, in the absence of a "Deluded Imaginations" section. And as for insults, before I came to this section I never realised that so many religious people, particularly so-called "christians" could be so bigotted, rude, insulting, unpleasant and offensive. If you're insulted for being a religionist then just remember it's a two-way street. And if you really don't like it here remember that no-one's keeping you here - you're free to leave at any time.UPDATE: religion has to be challenged because many things are being done in the name of religion that not everyone agrees with. In a few short weeks a man will be elected to the office of the most powerful man on Earth. Such a decision s! hould be based soley on his qualities as a human being and his ability to the job; not his religious beliefs which should remain his own business and no-one else's. There are plenty of priests in jails and atheists working in charities and hospitals to prove that religious belief has nothing to do with morals or being a good person.Atheists challenge religion because religion is being used to dominate and undermine society in all sorts of matters, such as:-+ education+ homosexuality+ freedom of speech+ freedom to determine one's own fertility+ science and historyIf religion is given a free reign in the same manner as it has in certain islamist nations then we are doomed to return to the Middle Ages.[and well said, RAPTOR. I agree wholeheartedly with every part of your answer]...Show more

Robt Heemstra: which idiot would make that mistake -_- when first thing anyone should know about Muslims is...that they do not worship their prophets...so how did they make that mis! take

Bo Perham: If you're actually interested in the history of t! he semantics of the word "straight" and why it's sometimes used to mean "heterosexual," check this out: http://dyneslines.blogspot.com/2005/04/straight-he...It's become part of our language now, and isn't meant to mean that anyone who is not sexually straight is "crooked." It's no longer used derogatorily, so it's not really something to get worked up about. Just as "gay" used to only mean "joyous" and it evolved meanings, so did "straight." Being heterosexual is mutually exclusive to being homosexual. (Otherwise you're considered bisexual.) "Smart" and "Christian," however, are not mutually exclusive.

Adam Momaya: Is 0 a number? Then the absence of spirituality is still concerned with spirituality.

Bryant Chaudhry: Oh what!? I thought it was the Insult a stupid, bigoted, ignorant Christian Category. Oh well seeing as I like to finish what I begin..I'm gonna stay here and do what I do best.

Andra Oger: *drink*Your religion affects my life in a negative man! ner. I have a right to fight back.

Mitchell Pickens: They are hungry and yearning for the Lord, but they will not give up their ungodly ways and accept Jesus and obey His Word.

Corey Rohleder: "Why are christians constantly here to challenge everyone's beliefs and insult everyone? Is this what christians do all day?"Holy crap. That works pretty damn well.

Horace Escue: In case you hadn't figured it out, this is a drinking question. It's been asked over 90,000 times . . . I am not exaggerating. Type it into the search bar. See how many hits you get. This is not the "Christian circle jerk section." Anyone can come here(I just realized what a horrible pun that was).Tell the fundies to get the hell out of the LGTB section, if you're that hung up about it. They shouldn't be there, either, but they always are.Oh, yeah . . . and *drink* I'm sorry, I stand corrected. It's actually been asked over 102,000 times. My mistake. It's been a while since I've checked.http:/! /answers.yahoo.com/search/search_result;_ylt...Tack on another 6,000 ti! mes if you spell it "athiest."http://answers.yahoo.com/search/search_result;_ylt...Christians only go to the LGBT section to insult people and tell them they're going to hell. That's wrong, too. Eric, not to slam you, but I see from your profile that you've been here over a year. You should know damn well how bad it used to be, before the atheists started getting retaliatory. Christians were downright hostile. The baby eating joke is a direct result of their disgusting insults. When they're not going after atheists, they're going after every other religion, and then attacking each other's denominations. The Christians created this hostile environment, so they shouldn't be surprised that the atheists have picked up on that and acted accordingly. I didn't even really label myself as an atheist when I first started coming here. I just had a general intrest in religion, and the different spiritual disciplines that people around the world practice, but I've gradually realized th! at this forum isn't for real discussion or learning, it's just for flinging venom, and the Christians are some of the worst offenders. Take that log out of your eye before you remove the speck from mine. Right back at ya', Captain Bunkum. I wish I could give you more than one thumbs up....Show more

Rosella Figliola: Ironically, The Atheists here answer religious questions better than the believers...Not to mention the fact that many Atheists here are spiritual, so they also come here to answer the spirituality part.Besides, the last time we left religion alone, the Dark Ages, the Crusades, the Witch Trials, and the Holy Wars happened. We're here to make sure that it doesn't happen here....Show more

Felipa Nosis: you are correct this section is called Religion & Spirituality, not just Religion, atheists can be spiritual...ive answered this question sooo many times....*DRINK*

Woodrow Neyman: I know it is a ridiculous idea but I don't understand why they have ! it. Who said it was coming to an end on this date?

Shaunta Paap: ! Only on boring Sunday mornings...

Eli Trapeni: Religion and Spirituality includes lack o religion. And it is not just hte athiests who are ofensive...there are people from all religions who are.

Samara Siewers: It is listed as Society and Culture.
