Galen Gowers: Hey Michael: Congrats on scoring the Vintage Rails for your Pacifica. Vintage Rails was my very first SD pickup and I love it. Mine was in a MIJ '80s Stratocaster. And mine was in the neck position.Back in the '90s, some of the USA-made Pacificas came stock with Vintage Rails in the neck and middle. They are a very Strat-like pickup with no hum. But, because they are wired in parallel, they are very sensitive to height adjustment. You should try to get the pickup as close to the strings as possible. 3/16" is a good starting point. That should bring back that "woodiness" you're looking for.For more information about Vintage Rails and pickups in general, I'd recommend you check out the Seymour Duncan forum (link below). There are lots of very knowledgeable folks there and they welcome newcomers.Good luck with your axe!...Show more

Ronnie Barcus: Vintage rails are great pickups and what you need to do is to change the value of the capacitor. This will ater your tone to being brighter, or darker.
