Susan Rambo: I admire a little bit of milk or 1/2-and-1/2 once I drink tea. Commonly the bitterness of tea is disagreeable for me, and the milk makes it more palatable and comforting. This applies especially to black teas, but also to inexperienced and herbal teas every so often too. Just depends on the flavour and my temper. I do know that milk/cream in tea is typical and lovely common in England. I'm not certain about other areas or cultures although.
