Dominic Sciancalepore: violence in the video games is no problem...addiction to video games is. but as i see it, that all depends on each person's personality.
Jules Ashbach: some people say it is and some people say it isnt a problem, really all violence in video games, movies, and televison is doing is brainwashing people to be ok with death. if you look at the military that is what they do. people naturally avoid killing eachother which is why you will hear of people who have been to war justifying killing people by dehumanizing the people they have killed, for instance calling middle eastern people ragheads, sandniggers, towelheads, and things of the sort is dehumanizing, conditioning our military to be able to take these people lives without feeling remorse. that is what violence in video games is doing, it is conditioning so that if they ever were to kill they would have an easier time doing it, it is not making people want to go out and kill. if you look ! at history death was a part of life. bodies were brought back to families for them to clean, wrap and bury themselves. so is being ok with death really that big of a problem? the old world was fine with it. you could also relate it to sex. way back when sex was not a secret, families lived in single room homes where the parents and married couples would have sex at night. nowadays its taboo. so is being conditioned to be ok with something really a problem? today its considered to be but a few hundred years ago it wasnt and it seemed that there was less violence when people were ok with death. maybe we should start to think like that again....Show more
Micah Schwarcz: Violence in video games is just Part of the problem, look at violence in movies, and TV, Look at Wrestling, that is extremely popular. Violence is everywhere, and as such, people are getting immune to it's horror. When it is so commonplace, it is natural to lash out in violent ways in real life. ! Life becomes cheaper, when people are dying all over our scree! ns, excitement of the violence is becoming a necessary part of life to avoid boredom.
