Tawny Grosskreutz: I think Toys for Tots only accepts brand new in the package toys. But there are tons of other charities that will accept used toys, google it and find one near you.
Foster Koopmann: Yes, it matters. The kids don't want old boring, dirty, smelly, scratched-up toys for Christmas! Clean those up, make sure they have all the parts, and give them to Goodwill or a similar charity. Then donate a few bucks to Toys for Tots or get some inexpensive new toys for them.Never heard of getting Tater Tots for toys.
Raymon Fiene: Weird smells are a definite no-no. For that you get NO TOTS!
Nell Dipiero: No, I think the toys need to be new and still in their packages. And you definitely shouldn't donate ones that are dirty and damaged.
Clark Lachowski: answer: as a volunteer for Toys for Tots, I have to wonder how low it is to troll a question about the drive to gather toys for needy kids? Toys for Tots requests NEW, un-gift wrapped toy donatio! ns, or cash (at various toy drives in donation jars) or checks (made out to Toys for Tots) if you have used toys, please clean them and donate to any local thrift store/charity group other than Toys for Tots, please.
Donita Desjardin: Nope...the kids are poor anyway so they should just be happy to get anything. I believe the going rate is 7 tater tots per toy.
