The Importance of Education?

Lyman Gauld: Education is important because being culturally literate and knowing how to solve problems makes our lives better. There is nothing wrong with being ignorant, never having read great books, having no clue about history, not being able to find "Idaho" on a map, and thinking that "classical music" means anything before Michael Jackson. Lots of people go through their whole lives exactly that way, and they are healthy, happy, and productive. But when life ends, they will never have had the thrill of a shiver down the spine brought on by a great poem. They will not have any idea how to figure out if they are spending too much for a box of cereal because they cannot calculate the price per ounce, and they miss the satisfaction of winning out over the "system." If they watch the evening news at all, they have no idea what caused all those wars and fighting they are hearing about. Not being educated is like eating soup without a little salt and pepper. It's p! erfectly acceptable, but the person who does it is missing a lot....Show more

Foster Koopmann: The primary role of education is to help us turn to human beings. With the proper education we could understand the world, the reality we live in, and how we should settle into this system in harmony. Here is a comprehensive article on the topic, hopefully you will find some ideas that can be helpful for your essay:http://www.kabbalahblog.info/2009/08/what-is-the-p...All the best....Show more

Monty Sieloff: My education is very important to me. So important that my husband and I made the decision that I stay in my country (America) to finish up my A.S. Early Childhood Education and stay here for 2 1/2 years after I graduate for my B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies (K-8). Actually I am forced to stay here as the only accredited university that will accept my credits is only open to USA citizens in USA or one of the USA territories so I don't have much of a choice in the matt! er. My B.A. will ensure that I am able to provide for myself i! f my husband dies. I will only be seeing my husband once a year over the next 2 1/2 years but thankfully Allah (SWT) has not blessed us with children while I am still studying for my teaching degrees. That would be impossible for me to study and raise a child, and my husband could never be away from his children. We will strongly enforce the value of a good education on our children and make sure they go to college, especially our daughters. I do not want my daughters being dependant on a man their entire life....Show more

Antonia Mogg: Education helps to tame a human from wild to refined qualities..

Carmina Stickney: Education is important, very much so in are society. This is because we need to pass on knowledge to the next generation, and education is our organized means of doing this. Without education, the next generation of people would be helpless when all the elder people died, and a lot of knowledge would be lost.
