Raven Purl: The first thing you need to do is read about the homeschooling laws for your state at this link. -http://www.hslda.org/laws/Then you can decide whether you want to do online schooling or just traditional homeschooling with books, etc. Usually when you do it the traditional way, your mom is your teacher. Would your mom be able to do that? If not, you might want to do online school. As far as approaching your mom with the idea, here is a link with a list of reasons to homeschool that might be helpful. http://freehomeschooladvice.com/gpage1.htmlAlso, just keep talking about how you don't like school. Explain your reasons why and don't give up. You don't have to listen to all the people who say "oh, just stay in school, that's reality", etc. Homeschooling is a great option and you would probably love it. Our family has been homeschooling for 10 years and we really enjoy it.When you homeschool, you can connect with other homeschoolers by joining a support group. Th! en you can make friends with kids your age and go to the activities. Here are two links where you can find a group near you.http://www.home-school.com/groups/http://www.localhs.com/Best wishes!...Show more
Vickie Sterbenz: If friends are such a big part of your life, you won't make any staying at home. It's called adjustment. You are having a difficult time adjusting to your new surroundings. Let me tell you something: You have to get used it. What is going to happen when you start college? That is a HUGE change you will have to learn how to adjust. Teachers have different styles of teaching. You have to conform to their styles of teaching...know how they teach, and what they put on their exams. Then, you will learn how to succeed in studying for their classes. And friends can still help out with homework and such...but sometimes they can't. It's a thing called independent study. They can't always be there to help you out. To make new friends, start conservations with! your classmates. Jump in on other conversations if you have t! o. I think the reason you are not making much friends is because of the attitude. You said that you are unhappy during your time in school. Classmates get that vibe from you so they tend to stay away. Be warm and inviting. You are just scared now because of this change. You don't need to get home-schooled. Are you going to get home-schooled throughout high school as well? If you are really that unhappy, then talk to your mom about it. Or, with your guidance counselor at school. Good luck....Show more
May Stands: My youngsters are homeschooled, and the various homeschooled youngsters now we have met are particularly 'ordinary', anything that's. There are a few which are "bizarre", however there also are bizarre publicly schooled pupils. I believe your pal must no longer attempt to disguise the truth that she was once homeschooled. Many will most commonly believe it's exciting and exciting. It is without doubt not anything to be embarassed approximately!
Gabriel R! ealmuto: i felt the same way when i moved to a new school. At first it was horrible and i never wanted to go back but then i made a friend who introduced me to his friends and they introduced me to their other friends and eventually i had tons of friends and even a girlfriend which i thought i wouldnt get until college. my advice is to give it time and keeep yourself open to people. And besides, how would home schooling help u? you would hhave even a harder time making friends. Dont worry, youll be fine....Show more
Dan Seen: Honestly if friends are such an importance to you then leaving school would not help you. Get through the year and if you still hate it maybe try private schools. If that doesn't work and you still hate it then homeschooling is always an option although not right for everyone it can make your life a lot better.
Letitia Bigelow: What Gwen said. You have got to learn how to adjust to change.
