Dexter Dingus: You can teach him to associate your hand with food.Don't expect more than pavlovian responses as far as "tricks" go...If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up Pavlovian Conditioning.
Ester Bryand: Basically, without trying to sound pretentious, is not really!In truth your savannah monitor will never be a 'pet' in conventional terms.You will be able to get it it come to you, straight from it's enclosure, you may even get it to eat from you hand in a friendly way, but your monitor lizard is a reptile and a fairly aggressive one at that. The best that you ca hope for is that it appears to want to sit with you.This will in truth only be a deception on the lizards behalf as he just expects to be fed and is used to you feeding him.All of our reptiles a! re mere generations from being wild animals and those instincts will take hundreds of years to breed out, that's if you even wanted to.just think about dogs we've been 'breeding in' so called desirable traits for oh what the best part of a millennia and the thing may still turn around and bite you in the ***....Show more
